[20 June 2023] Beam Mobility Malaysia, a leading provider of shared e-scooters in Malaysia, was invited to the Johor Smart City Forum (JSCF) 2023 to speak in the "Mobility As A Services in Smart City" session. The event, organized by PLANMalaysia@Johor in collaboration with 16 city councils and other local stakeholders, served as a platform to outline the state government's plans for digital transformation through the Johor Smart City Blueprint 2030. 

JSCF 2023 was designed to set the direction for digital growth by bringing industry experts, service providers, government agencies, academicians, and organizations to engage in open and inclusive discussions about challenges related to smart cities.

Beam Mobility Malaysia, known for its commitment to sustainable and efficient urban mobility solutions, was featured at the Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri booth during the event. Additionally, the company's General Manager, Justin Tiew, served as a panelist at the "Mobility As A Service" session, to share his expertise on this topic.

Speaking at the event, Justin emphasized and discussed the importance of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in the context of smart cities. Where users are able to easily move through various transportation modes by utilizing a user-friendly service.

"As Johor plans towards a greener city, it is crucial to adopt innovative and environmentally friendly mobility solutions. Mobility as a Service can play a pivotal role in enhancing transportation efficiency, by bringing together all forms of shared transport on a single platform, and improving overall quality of life in the city. Beam congratulates the Johor Government on an ambitious blueprint," said Justin Tiew, General Manager of Beam Mobility Malaysia.

Justin has also shared insights into Beam's ongoing operations in EduCity Iskandar, Johor, where the company is actively working with the university to create a carbon-negative campus. By providing shared e-scooters and promoting sustainable transportation alternatives, Beam aims to contribute to EduCity's environmental goals while ensuring convenient and accessible mobility for students, faculty, and staff.
