BINTULU, MALAYSIA - March 10, 2024 - Beam Mobility Malaysia, a leading micro mobility solutions provider, is pleased to announce its launch in Bintulu, Sarawak, in collaboration with the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA). This partnership signifies a significant step forward for Beam as it marks the company's expansion into its second city in Sarawak, working towards the city’s low-carbon goals and providing sustainable and convenient transportation options for residents and visitors alike.

Bintulu, known for its industrial growth and natural beauty, has been seeking solutions to enhance its transportation infrastructure while tackling traffic congestion and carbon emissions. In response to these challenges, Beam Mobility Malaysia and the BDA have joined forces to introduce a fleet of e-scooters into Bintulu Division’s administrative area of 12,752.12 kilometres square, serving the city’s population of 266,200 people.

The launch of Beam Mobility in Bintulu was in conjunction with their monthly Car Free Morning where residents of the city come together every second Saturday of the month to promote a healthy lifestyle as well as to achieve its liveability and green city goals.

With the launch of Beam's services in Bintulu, residents can download the Beam app to locate and unlock e-scooters conveniently stationed throughout the city. Riders can enjoy an exclusive RM5 free Beam credits to enjoy their first ride during the Car Free Morning.

As Beam Mobility Malaysia expands its presence across Malaysia and beyond, the partnership with the Bintulu Development Authority serves as a model for collaborative urban planning and sustainable transportation initiatives.
