• Beam Joins Petaling Jaya Council’s Folklore Festival
• Beam introduced Petaling Jaya residents to the benefits of its e-scooters for the first time through educational booths and e-scooter testing space

[3 December 2022] Petaling Jaya is known to have one of the most developed transportation facilities and infrastructure. Their public transport, cycling lanes, and walking paths are purposefully laid out across the city in efforts to reduce cars on the roads and encourage their citizens to live a greener lifestyle. Beam is glad to have been Petaling Jaya City Council’s exclusive shared micromobility partner this year offering our e-scooter rental services since April 2022.

In conjunction with their PJ Folklore Festival which was held from 28 November to 4 December, Beam Mobility was invited to be a part of the Car Free Day - one of the events of this festival. These were held at the premises of Dataran Petaling Jaya where the roads are closed off for the morning and residents are free to ride their zero emission vehicles around the area. Residents of Petaling Jaya were introduced to the e-scooters and safety precautions needed while riding one around the city through their educational booth.

Micromobility may be key to further escalate the transportation improvements in Petaling Jaya and Beam e-scooters can help  hopes to be a part of it.

• Virtual Docking: Fixed ‘virtual’ parking docks will be seen within the app, with riders directed to appropriate parking spots through a combination of guidance, incentives, and disincentives.
• Beam Safe Academy: The Beam Safe Academy is a safety program that incorporates an interactive safety quiz and a launchbriefing guide for new users. Riders are to complete the in-app safety quiz as our means of self-training on safe-riding etiquette.
